HISTORY Brainwank was founded by four former members of ByTeGeiZ, a group which splitted up in late march 2003. Those four members were [neo], Tante Frieda, Kojote and wasiliy. Since most of us are still creative people we decided to continue our work, somehow :) It was really hard to find a new name. We met each other a couple of times on IRC, wasting hours in getting a new name. Finally on April 8th 2003 we did it, Brainwank was born. 5 days later our webpage hit the net. On the 14th of the same month three new members joined. Zerlh and MK2k which were also two former membes of ByTeGeiZ. Last but not least Somnium of Sueño joined Brainwank as second group. Wasiliy, MK2k, Zerlh, Somnium and Kojote attended Breakpoint 2003 where we had our first releases. MK2k & Zerlh worked on a wild demo having Micro$oft's operation system "Longhorn" on the view. Kojote pulled three releases out. Two of them were preselected and not shown on the bigscreen, but they didn't reached the last place at all. The first ranked "North Mekka Park" in the fast coding competition had also some Brainwank members involved. Somnium created the music and Kojote pixled himself to death over night ;) Two months pasted without release till early june where Kojote released an experimental hardcoretrack having a rather rude name. Currently [neo] and Tante Frieda are working on a 4k intro and wasiliy is extending his GBA Assembler coding skills. Exam time doesn't allow us to release much stuff yet. - To be continued... - We are a demogroup, but probably not a usual demogroup. Of course we have our goals, but no one of the members is forced to do anything. No one is under pressure to release this or that (not yet :). We are not fixed on any system or any special type of release. We do it because it's fun! |
